Kate & Will’s First Public Appearance Since The Birth of Prince George

Earlier last week, the Duchess of Cambridge and her husband Prince William made their first public appearance as a couple since the birth of their son Prince George. Well wishers gathered at Holyhead Breakwater Country Park in Anglesey where Prince William was due to ring the bell to start the gruelling, three-day annual “ultra” marathon, known as the Ring O’ Fire. It is thought that Friday’s appearance could be one of their last on Anglesey before they leave when the Duke’s tour of duty ends in September. Beaming new mum Kate revealed to the crowds that her five-and-a-half week old is doing well. When asked how he was, Kate replied, “George has been very good and sleeping well. He’s with granny at the moment,” “He’s sleeping well but I know these things change at a minute’s notice.” Displaying no signs of the sleepless nights common to new parents, a bright William and Kate discussed with onlookers the joy they were having from George and how quickly he was changing. The future King has already amazed his parents with his progress, since his birth on July 22nd, reaching 13lb, the average size of a three month old! Reported to be the largest royal baby ever, he weighed 8lb 6oz at birth and is rapidly outgrowing his first romper suits. Although the young Prince did not join the couple in Anglesey, he has still managed to hit the headlines as the royal baby’s portrait was revealed last month. Michael Middleton, Kate’s father, took the beautiful pictures of the new family in the garden of the Middleton family home in Berkshire. The family looks relaxed and happy in the photographs, as they opted for a home photo rather than a posed, regal portrait that has become common over the decades. Prince George of Cambridge’s birth was one of the most widely anticipated in the world, and for William and Kate their challenge has only just begun.
