This dream is about a specific person you converse with in your waking life; you are struggling to get your message across to this person. You talk with them regularly and probably have a style of communicating with them – you can push their buttons, so to speak, to get the answers you need!

On this occasion, no matter how you try, you don’t seem to be able to get through to them. Or, if you do get your message across, they are not behaving in response like they usually would. Perhaps they have cottoned on to your style of ‘managing them’?

This dream is trying to tell you that you may need to review your communication style. It is important to use action and behaviour just as much as talking. You cannot treat people like machines, just pushing buttons in a sequence of numbers in the hope of them spitting out the answers you seek.

Computers, phones, entry pads and all manner of technologies have become part of our everyday world and should, in theory, enhance our lives and make things easier and more efficient. However, this dream is a reminder that you cannot beat face-to-face contact and that being able to read and interpret body language and facial expressions etc can tell a whole different story than just words – none of which can be achieved electronically. Embracing technology, but not at the expense of human contact, means greater understanding and less isolation and disconnect.
