Angel Altar: Why not make one this Christmas

Last Updated: September 9th, 2021

Angel Altar

Have you decorated for Christmas yet? We are exploring how an Angel Altar can help…There is no doubt that the ‘Rule of 6’, special bubbles, tiered lockdown measures and ongoing Covid restrictions, will make Christmas different this year.

Obviously, the health of ourselves, and especially vulnerable loved ones is going to be at the forefront of our minds, as we go into this holiday season.

So, it is likely that many of us will feel in need of a little more spiritual inspiration than usual. This is where an Angel Altar comes in. Having an altar can create a more powerful connection with the angelic realm, as well as providing you with a focal point when you are in need of support and guidance.

The angel’s energy will be heightened in an environment that is full of joy and hope, peace and tranquillity. As you will likely be decorating for Christmas anyway, it is really easy to carve out a small space for an Angel Altar.

How to create an Angel Altar

Find a small space in your home, where you can lay out some objects of meaning.

It could be a small table, shelf, window or fireplace mantle.

The items that you choose for your altar, are personal to you. For example, you may have a Christmas glass angel ornament. A feather, candles, flowers, shells, framed photographs of loved ones (both here and departed), your favourite crystals, a favoured Angel or Tarot card, across – anything that speaks to you on a spiritual level.

An altar can be especially powerful if you can represent objects, sentiments that you want to bring into your life. For example love, harmony, abundance, friendship, creativity and empathy.

You don’t have to get the altar right the first time, feel free to add or remove items – depending on what mood they create for you.

Using the Altar

Throughout the festive season, you can go to the altar when you want to connect to your angels and feel a sense of balance and security.

You may wish to meditate or pray in front of the altar, to centre your energies and spiritually to connect to the angelic realm.

Then let yourself explore anything you are feeling, and let the angels know any particular challenges that you are struggling to harmonise.

Revisit your altar often, cleanse the area, light candles if you have them and let the process fill you with creative, artistic and spiritual energy. The angelic qualities of peace, harmony and love should wash over you and fill you with joy once more.
