What better time than now to discuss the ‘endless packing dream’?

In this dream, you have a trip of some sort or holiday booked, a deadline when you need to leave, and an endless assortment of suitcases/bags and what seems like a conveyor belt of possessions to fit into them.

No matter how you try, you never seem to get all of your bags packed in time, and when you think you are ready to close the lid – you find yet more stashed belongings that are essential to take.

You start to feel like there is no way to meet your deadline and no way you will ever finish packing!

Packing Dream Meaning

Like most dreams, the content is about what is happening in your waking life. The luggage represents all of your ambitions in life; and your potential for fulfilling your dreams.

But there is also a mirroring in the possessions, i.e., in the trip scenario, you have too many things to be packed, and in real life, you are trying to cram too many activities in; to be successful.

The time pressure of having to leave to get on your holiday is also a warning in life – that you feel you must; not only meet your goals but also in a specific timeframe. It can also signify that you feel something in your life is lacking or missing; no matter how much time you spend being busy, you are still not fulfilled.

You need to ask yourself whether you are spending too much time in your waking life, preparing and planning (packing in the dream), and not enough time actually doing!

The luggage can also denote – ‘past baggage’ in the sense that habits or mistakes from your past are holding you back in the here and now. Maybe, it is time to let go and move forward without so much baggage, physically, mentally and spiritually.

You might feel like you need every possession, but in reality, the more weighed down we are by luggage (in the dream) or expectations (in our waking life), the less freely we tend to live our lives, which impacts both our success and happiness.
