Susan Standen, a 44-year-old mother from Cornwall found herself lost in a pit of depression after finding it hard to cope with postnatal depression and the death of her father. That is until she met a psychic artist who turned her world around through channelling the spirit of Leonardo Da Vinci. 66-year-old Sandy Ingham believes that Da Vinci moves and acts through her hands to assist her with drawings of the deceased. Sandy, who says she has never had any artistic training, has used her newfound ability to support her psychic services, and with just a stick of charcoal Sandy has the ability to draw pictures of her customers loved ones who have passed over. She credits Da Vinci for all her drawings that her clients quickly recognise as their lost loved ones. Sally is also a medium and can communicate with the spirits, passing messages back to their friends and family. For Suzanne Standen, a former investment banker, talking to Sally was the only was she could begin to overcome her depression which had taken hold after the birth of her son Daniel, and worsened by the death of her father shortly after. Mrs Standen said: “After the birth of my son, Daniel, I couldn’t shake the depression. Then, just weeks after he was born, my father Brian died aged 69. It sent me into a spiral of depression. “I tried speaking with doctors but nothing worked.” After deciding to try other options, she turned to Sandy. As she walked into her first session, there was a drawing already waiting for her on the table. After a brief chat, Sandy revealed her sketch of Suzanne’s father, likened to an old photograph that Suzanne claims there is no way that Sandy would have seen before. “I was blown away,” said Suzanne, “and after talking with Sandy I felt my depression lift.” Sandy gave an interview about her abilities to the West Briton, stating that it was only 6 years ago that she realised that she had the gift of speaking to Da Vinci and the spirits of others that have passed away. “I would go into a trance-like state and start drawing random things on bits of paper,” she said. After learning of her gift, Sandy started an over the phone psychic service, where clients could call her and upon entering her trance, she sketches out an image of those who have died and posts it on to them. “Sometimes people do not recognize the drawing but then they’ll show it to their mother or relative and they will say, ‘yes that’s a picture of so and so from 40 years ago’. They’ll pull out an old picture and it’s a splitting image of the one I have drawn. I don’t know what I am drawing.  I close my eyes, put my head down and after five minutes, there it is,” she said. Suzanne states that while not everybody will be convinced of Sandy’s ability, she firmly believes that the psychic’s assistance pulled her through. She said: “It’s a type of therapy. There are sceptics. But any form of counselling that helps with grief must be good.”
