Though it is sometimes easy to forget, underneath the glitz and glamour celebrities are just regular people too. Just like us, they make (and give up on) New Year’s Resolutions. Even though most celebrities are quite a bit more wealthy and privileged than the average person, their resolutions for 2014 were surprisingly in keeping with national trends. According to Statistic Brain, the top New Year’s Resolutions for 2014 around the country were to “Lose Weight”, “Get Organized”, and to “Spend Less and Save More”. Our favourite celebrities seem to have similar issues on the brain, as the list below shows. Read on for the top celebrity New Year’s Resolutions of 2014. Just like many of us, celebs are looking to shift those Christmas pounds and get back in shape– comedy star Jason Manford is among them saying: “I’m already mid-diet/workout so I’m planning on keeping that going. “I’ve also promised myself a bit of time off with my kids. I can’t even remember the last time I had two days off consecutively, so hopefully I can get six days off and head to Butlins.” Actress and Strictly Come Dancing star Lisa Riley is aiming to quit smoking in 2014 after giving up last year, saying: “Going to try and give up the ciggies. I failed miserably last year as I only lasted three days!” EastEnders star Jamie Lomas is also aiming to quit, saying: “I’ve set myself a goal to stop smoking and just have a good year.” Controversial rapper Kanye West expressed his bold resolution, stating his aim was “to keep my mouth shut for at least six months and to not talk badly about others.” US reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian stated her resolution was to “work less, play more” something many of us would like the privilege of doing. (If you are still wondering what it is she does exactly, don’t worry we are too.) Nevertheless, we hope she’ll be able to continue doing next to nothing, successfully, in 2014. Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has an unusual resolution: “To give up my security blanket (an old yellow pyjama top), I take it everywhere with me. And I’d like to be more punctual.” So there you have it, celebs are really not that much different to us!
